Dominic was born in Hamiliton, Ontario, Canada. He studied guitar at the University of Toronto with Eli Kassner and performed in the University Big Band directed by Phil Nimmons. Graduating in 1982, he performed at the Havana Guitar Festival Cuba, and studied under scholarship in Spain.
He settled in the UK concentrating on writing original songs including music for a version of Carmen performed at the Newcastle Playhouse. Dominic continues to tour and record with artists such as Carol Kidd, Michael Garrick, Julian Marc Stringle and Digby Fairweather's Half Dozen with George Melly and recently Paul Jones. In 2006 he was awarded the Jazz Guitarist of the year at the Birmingham Jazz awards.
He released the album Portraits in 2004 and in 2015 he put out a latin album called Five Note Salsa, which he recorded with the group Picante, one of the many bands he performs with today.
